“Jack J. Blandy, PCH has received PLNA’s 2013 Hall of Fame Award. Jack Blandy is the founder and president of Stoney Bank Nurseries in Glen Mills.

Stoney Bank is widely recognized as one of the Delaware Valley’s premier landscape designers and horticulturalists. He began forging his path in the landscape and nursery business more than thirty years ago with a Temple University degree in ornamental horticulture.

Since then, Blandy has been a major exhibitor in the Philadelphia Flower Show—and has won five Best In Show awards, multiple Philadelphia Flower Show Awards, The Buckley Award, The Governors Trophy, and The American Horticultural Society Citation for Garden Design. He also served on the Flower Show Executive Committee and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Council.

This year, Blandy’s company was awarded a Gold Award for Landscape Excellence by PLNA for their restoration of Rose Valley Farm.

A Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturalist, Blandy served as a trustee and chairman of the PLNA Foundation and currently serves on the PLNA board of directors.

In presenting the award, Jim MacKenzie, president of Octoraro Native Plant Nursery and PLNA’s chairman of the board said, “Jack’s work and contribution to the industry represents excellence in so many ways. He has created benchmarks that others in the green industry strive to reach.”
